Job Details Position Summary The Department of Psychology at York College of Pennsylvania has a Fall 2025 opening for an adjunct instructor to teach a section of Lifespan Development. This is an in-person position. Essential Functions Teaching and Instruction
Deliver course content effectively using instructional methods appropriate for a diverse student population.
Facilitate learning in accordance with the college’s curriculum and course objectives.
Course Preparation and Planning
Develop and update course syllabi in alignment with departmental guidelines.
Select appropriate instructional materials and create assessments (exams, quizzes, papers, etc.).
Student Assessment and Feedback
Evaluate student work fairly and promptly, providing constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in accordance with institutional policy.
Submit grades and other required documentation by stated deadlines.
Student Support and Communication
Maintain availability for students through scheduled office hours or by appointment.
Respond to student inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Refer students to appropriate academic or support services when needed.
Compliance and Professional Conduct
Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.
Uphold FERPA regulations and ensure the confidentiality of student information.
Participate in required training (e.g., Title IX, Security, LTS).
Learning Management System (LMS) Use
Utilize the college’s LMS (Canvas) to post syllabi, grades, assignments, and course communications.
Ensure course materials are accessible and organized for student use. Experience and Education Required Applicants should hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology or other related field. Required Skills and Qualifications Additionally, the candidate should have:
teaching experience at the college level
strong verbal and written communication skills
ability to interact professional and respectfully with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment
dedication to supporting student learning and engagement
