The instructor will adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by the Calhoun Community College Personnel Handbook, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees.

Applicants must provide information from previous employers documenting full-time related work experience if an offer is made.## Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Teach at varied times and places and in varied formats based on student demand; day or evening, in Decatur, Huntsville, or at other sites in the traditional classroom, hybrid, or web format.2. Evaluate the progress of students in all classes according to institutional, divisional, departmental, and individual criteria.3. Collect, maintain, and submit accurate class records including grades, attendance rosters, absences, withdrawal, and/or class drop information to appropriate offices.4. Prepare or assist in the preparation of materials used in academic administration when requested, including course syllabi, program outlines, and catalog material.5. Manage the Aviation facility to include all buildings within the Aviation area (including the maintenance and upkeep of the classroom and labs).6. Assist in the development of discipline-specific student learning outcome objectives.7. Assess student learning using multiple assessment strategies.8. Analyze and interpret data relative to student learning and provide feedback to the institution and students for the purpose of improving and expanding student learning.9. Manage the Aviation facility to insure that industry-type skills are learned by students.10. Order all materials for the maintenance of the facility and labs.11. Keep all equipment in working or usable order.12. Participate in scheduled in-service activities.13. Provide academic and career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences.14. Provide advice to the administration on matters pertaining to the instructional program.15. Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work. Maintain assigned office hours.16. Continue as a competent instructor in Aviation by seeking new knowledge, improving pedagogy, and updating professional competencies.17. Promote positive and productive relationships with service area businesses, industries, and agencies.18. Perform all duties with prof ssionalism.19. Serve on committees engaged in furthering the work of the institution when appointed or when elected.20. Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the

21. Perform other appropriate professional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.## Qualifications1. A minimum of an Associates degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required.2. A minimum of three years of full-time current progressive work experience in aviation maintenance is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (AandP) Mechanic Certificate.

Proficiency of use of internet, e-mail, and computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred but not required;Documented evidence of industry recognized credentials such as AandP;Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
