Reading Coach Position Available In Gadsden, Florida

Reading Coach Crossroad Academy Charter School 470 Strong Road, Quincy, FL 32351 The Reading Coach at Crossroad Academy Charter School is a key instructional leader responsible for improving student achievement in reading by supporting and enhancing teacher instructional practices. The coach will work directly with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement research-based literacy strategies, analyze student data, model effective lessons, and facilitate professional development aligned to the school’s goals for literacy growth and achievement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers in the implementation of effective reading strategies aligned with the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards. Model high-quality instructional lessons in classrooms and support the planning and delivery of reading instruction. Collaborate with teachers to develop and refine small group instruction, intervention strategies, and differentiated reading plans. Analyze schoolwide, classroom, and student-level reading data to drive instructional decisions and monitor progress. Design and facilitate professional development sessions focused on evidence-based reading instruction and assessment practices. Assist in the development and implementation of the school’s reading intervention and literacy plans. Support teachers in administering and interpreting reading assessments such as FAST Progress Monitoring, iReady, and other diagnostic tools. Serve as a resource for best practices in reading instruction, curriculum implementation, and instructional materials. Participate in instructional leadership team meetings and contribute to data talks and student progress reviews. Provide feedback and follow-up support to ensure fidelity of implementation of reading strategies and interventions. Support the integration of AVID strategies and cross-curricular literacy initiatives throughout content areas. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal to support overall school improvement and student success.

Qualifications:

Valid Florida teaching certificate in Reading, Elementary Education, or related field with a Reading Endorsement. Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom experience teaching reading. Demonstrated knowledge of current research and best practices in reading instruction, intervention, and literacy development. Strong data analysis and instructional planning skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities. Experience providing professional development or coaching is preferred.
