Teaching Full Job Description Qualifications:

Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6), English (6-12), or Reading (K-12) Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification (K-12) required At least 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably in reading or language arts Demonstrated success in improving student reading achievement Experience with literacy assessment tools, data analysis, and supporting/coaching teachers Strong knowledge of

Responsibilities:

Assist with the delivery of Reading/Literacy-related instruction tied to the B.E.S.T. State Standards Support and coach teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction and intervention strategies Model reading and learning strategies in classrooms across content areas Facilitate instruction based on current reading, study, and thinking research Coordinate pre-test assessments and progress monitoring Track all students for learning gains, with a focus on Level 1 and Level 2 students Collect and analyze assessment data, providing visual data representation (charts/graphs) Use assessment data to help place students in appropriate instructional or intervention programs Guide teachers in the selection and use of assessment tools to inform literacy instruction Conduct regular collaborative meetings with teachers to examine student work and monitor progress Assist with analysis of assessment data to determine student response to instruction (RTI) Evaluate literacy needs within subject areas and support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction Provide diagnostic reading assessments when requested Make recommendations for implementing the Reading/Literacy Plan Support implementation of school-wide recognition and rewards programs for reading progress Submit monthly status reports to the Assistant Principal Participate fully in professional development opportunities and relevant literacy research Assist in planning for and implementing goals associated with the School Improvement Plan Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of at-risk students Build relationships with parents and families to support student literacy developmen
