Official Transcripts are required within 60 days of employment. This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Carpentry program in the School of Industrial Technologies and Legal Studies. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve courses with some hybrid components. The instructor will report to the Dean. The Instructor must possess the ability to: Teach all phases of the Carpentry curriculum
Teach high school students in dual enrollment programs
Additional duties include developing instructional materials
Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives
Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area
Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
Prepare curriculum for coursework taught
Work flexible hours
Operate & maintain instructional equipment & trainers
Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online & text
Maintain program certification requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in Carpentry or a closely related field. Five years of work experience in Carpentry or a closely related field. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills. A flexible work schedule is necessary, as classes will be taught during days and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable. All credentials must be provided for copying at the time of interview. Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
