The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading instruction and a commitment to empowering students to achieve academic success. By implementing best practices and creative teaching methods, you will help students improve their reading skills, boost their confidence, and prepare for higher education challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive reading curriculum tailored to the needs of underperforming students.
Assess students’ reading levels and progress regularly to tailor instruction to individual needs.
Utilize creative teaching strategies and activities to engage students and foster a love for reading.
Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Provide feedback and guidance to students to improve their reading and comprehension skills.
Prepare students for university-level reading expectations by introducing them to various literary genres and critical thinking exercises.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
Communicate regularly with students and their guardians to report on progress and address any concerns. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Reading/Reading Education or relevant field, or 18 hours in reading coursework.
