Rolling, with priority for Fall 2025 About Us Beyond Young Academy empowers K-12 students through enrichment programs that build leadership, communication, and critical thinking. We are currently hiring a dynamic After-School Instructor with expertise in English Language Arts, Debate, and Public Speaking to join our team. Position Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with a strong background in student debate, writing instruction, and the humanities to teach small-group after-school enrichment classes. This role will involve lesson planning, guiding student discussion and writing projects, and helping students build confidence as communicators. Key Responsibilities Teach after-school classes focused on: Reading comprehension and literary analysis Essay and creative writing Public speaking, debate, and structured argumentation Prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to elementary or middle school students Offer feedback to help students improve their language fluency and critical thinking Communicate regularly with families and the admin team Support student participation in writing and speech competitions when applicable Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, English, History, Communications, or a related field Strong background in ELA instruction, speech & debate coaching, or youth leadership programs Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with K-12 students Passion for student growth and creative learning Excellent classroom management and communication skills Experience with curriculum development is a plus Preferred Availability At least 2 afternoons per week (3:30-8:30 PM window) To Apply Please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your teaching experience and interest in the role to beyondyoungnj@gmail.com.
