About the team For this ELA Interventionist position, you’ll be working for our high school in north Philadelphia called TECH Freire Charter School (9th-12th Grade): Freire Schools’ established rigorous college-prep high school program is infused with technology and entrepreneurship education to unlock creativity and potential in our students. We have a culture that demands excellence from our students while providing them the supports they need to achieve at high levels and prepare for college. 96% of TECH Freire’s Class of 2024 were accepted to college and earned over $7 million in college scholarships and aid. TECH Freire Charter School (9-12): 2221 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19132 What you’ll do As an ELA Interventionist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring all students have the literacy skills they need to access rigorous academic content. You’ll provide small-group and one-on-one instruction tailored to students who need additional support in reading and writing, and collaborate with classroom teachers to help students meet grade-level standards. Responsibilities Deliver targeted ELA interventions using Corrective Reading curriculum to small groups of students Use data to identify students in need of support and monitor progress regularly Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to design and implement intervention plans Maintain accurate records of student growth and communicate regularly with families Participate in ongoing professional development focused on literacy and intervention best practices Who you are You possess an unwavering belief that our students are capable of success, and you both exude and cultivate our values of equity, love, critical thinking, and diversity. Minimum requirements Teaching certification in secondary ELA or related content Strong understanding of literacy development and instructional strategies Ability to build strong relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues Commitment to equity and high expectations for all learners Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role is $50,000 – $75,000. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire’s 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.
