Advanced Chemistry, Forensics (Interim) Reports to:
Vice President of Specialty & Academic Studies Job Goal:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society.
Performance Responsibilities:
v Determines individual and class needs. v Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences. v Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time and meet objectives. v Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. v Exhibits positive human relation skills. v Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress. v Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups. v Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. v Maintains and submits records and reports v Maintains flexibility in and openness to courses that reflect department’s needs v Supports the mission and goals of the school v Integrates instructional technologies into the classroom v Works with Student Support Services to facilitate learning in all areas of the student’s life v Collaborates with colleagues on teams, both in the classroom and the professional learning community v Works with all other instructors to facilitate flexible test dates and class attendance to benefit students. v Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board, state and federal rules and regulations. v Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership. v Utilizes and communicates with internal technology such as, e-mail, grade reporting, etc. v Attends and provides adult leadership and support for school performances and other school and student functions.
Qualifications:
v (required) A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry from an accredited college or university v (preferred) Experience in scientific research is highly desirable and 5 years teaching experience and demonstrated classroom management skills. v Alabama Teacher’s Certificate (not required) v Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President may find appropriate and acceptable.
