Position Summary:

The College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University (A-State) invites outstanding candidates to apply for a non-tenure-track Instructor position in Food Science beginning July 1, 2025. . This is a two-year grant funded position and focuses on teaching and outreach/recruitment of students into the program. Position will involve teaching undergraduate level courses in Food Science (50% effort) and outreach/recruitment (50% effort). The position is 12-month renewable contract. Each member of the faculty has the duty to deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Teaching assigned courses within the Food Science
Guide students through applied and experiential learning experiences
Develop new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools at the undergraduate level
Participate actively in outreach/recruitment for the program, and be involved in some service
Other duties as assigned. This position will report to the Associate Dean and works cooperatively with faculty in our state-of-the-art meat facility.

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Master’s degree and/or extensive experience in food science

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior postsecondary teaching experience
