Job Description
Thank you for your interest in employment with Southeastern Louisiana University. Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Chemistry and Physics invites applications for the position of Instructor of Chemistry. As an Instructor, you will be expected to teach undergraduate-level courses and labs. You would be responsible for preparing lessons and assessments based on a list of course learning objectives and using the textbook already adopted. You will also be an instructor in the dual enrollment program and teach high school students a college level course, using a trained high school teacher as a facilitator. Additionally, you would be expected to participate in service activities for the Department, University, and Community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited university with at least 18 credit hours of graduate level chemistry courses by hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A
Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Experience teaching introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses to non-science majors. Experience working with high school students and teachers is highly desirable. A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and service.
