REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a valid state teaching certification in Physics or a related field. (Physics, 7-12 / 032)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience teaching AP Physics or similar advanced courses.
REPORTS TO
Principal or designee.
POSITION OVERVIEW
To inspire and engage students in the study of physics, promoting critical thinking and a strong understanding of scientific principles that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum goals.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
Assess student understanding through quizzes, tests, projects, and lab reports, providing timely feedback.
Foster student inquiry and participation through discussions, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities.
Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance the learning experience.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices and contribute to departmental initiatives.
Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in physics education.

Strong understanding of physics concepts and teaching methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a motivating and inclusive classroom environment.
Proficiency in using technology to support instruction.
