The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine biology, oceanography, or environmental science, and a passion for engaging students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning. The Marine Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering a rigorous curriculum aligned with state standards and promoting environmental stewardship and scientific literacy. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Marine Science aligned with Florida state standards and NGSS. Create a student-centered classroom environment that fosters inquiry, exploration, and real-world application. Design and implement laboratory experiments, field studies, and research projects. Incorporate the use of technology, multimedia, and current scientific research into instruction. Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians. Collaborate with colleagues in the science department and participate in ongoing professional development. Promote marine conservation, sustainability, and environmental awareness through the curriculum. Supervise and facilitate educational field trips or marine-related extracurricular activities (if applicable). Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field (Master’s preferred). Valid Florida teaching certificate in Biology 6-12 or Earth/Space Science 6-12 (or eligible for certification). Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction. Experience in lab safety and scientific fieldwork procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for marine ecosystems and environmental education.

Preferred Experience:
