Statesboro, GA 30458 Department Information Within this setting, the Department of Biology offers a comprehensive biology program leading to B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees. The department also provides several core curriculum and foundation classes for other majors. This position will contribute to student-centered classrooms and broad-based laboratory instruction for our students. Job Summary Reporting to the department chair, the visiting instructor of Biology will teach 15 contact hours per semester, including introductory majors and non-majors lecture and laboratory courses. This is an academic year appointment for the months of August 2025-May 2026. All visiting positions are non-tenure track appointments. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications Earned MS or doctorate in Biology, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology, by May 31, 2025. Evidence of ability to teach undergraduate biology courses and laboratories, and ability to cultivate an educational environment that inspires students. Evidence of effective written and spoken communication skills. Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives. Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of college/university teaching experience Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
