The Walker School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Upper School Physics Teacher to join our outstanding Upper School Science Department. As a Walker educator, you’ll be more than just a teacher-you’ll be a mentor, advisor, and guide who fosters critical thinking, empathy, and collaboration. Our ideal candidate is a teacher-leader with a strong background in physics instruction, particularly AP Physics 1 and C, and possibly engineering. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position that includes teaching five sections (with up to three preps) and serving as a grade-level advisor. What You’ll Do Teach engaging, rigorous physics courses with creativity and purpose Serve as an advisor to 10-15 Upper School students Coach, sponsor, or lead extracurriculars such as Robotics, athletics, or student organizations Be available daily for student tutorial time Collaborate with fellow teachers and bring innovative ideas to the classroom Participate in school events, Open Houses, and division-wide activities Who You Are A passionate educator who inspires curiosity in the sciences An excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative school culture A reflective practitioner committed to professional growth A creative problem-solver and lifelong learner Open to diverse perspectives and dedicated to inclusion What You Bring A Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s or advanced coursework (preferred) Experience teaching at the high school level, particularly AP-level coursework Strong written and verbal communication skills Confidence in integrating technology to enhance instruction Why Walker?
