DISTRICT OVERVIEW
Job description: Meet and instructassigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Plan aprogram of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs,interests, and abilities of the students and employs a variety ofinstructional techniques and media. Create a classroom environment thatis conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interestsof students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement ofcurriculum goals and ? in harmony with the goals ? establish clearobjectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicatethese objectives to students. Strive to implement by instruction andaction the district?s philosophy of education, instructional goals, andobjectives. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basisand provides progress reports as required. Maintain accurate, complete,and correct records as required by law, district policy, andadministrative regulations. Make provision for being available tostudents and parents for education-related purposes outside theinstructional day when required or requested. Plan and supervisepurposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) and,cooperatively with department heads, evaluates their job performance.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence. Attend staffmeetings and serves on staff committee as required. Other duties asassigned. Qualifications Bachelor?s Degree At least one year offull-time teaching experience Commitment to ensuring academic successfor all students Experience working in an urban setting, preferredExperience working with diverse student populations, preferred Abilityto read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructionalplanning and execution Strong written and verbal communication skills;excellent teamwork skills Bilingual applicants (Spanish) stronglyencouraged to apply Required license(s):
