High School Science Teacher, 1 FTE begins August 25, 2025
Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, RSU 23 is a 700 student, three-school district seeking a Science Teacher to join our team. OOBHS is a 200 student enrollment campus. The successful candidate should possess the following:
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Citizenship, residency or work visa Maine State Teaching Certifications #350 (7-12 Physical Science- Required) and #395 (7-12 Life Science- Preferred)
Maine Department of Education CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprinting
QUALIFICATIONS / JOB SUMMARY
Extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for Science
Deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and engaging scienceinstruction to students of varying abilities
Collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and support student success Experience and demonstrated success teaching a variety of science courses
Ability to integrate technology to enhance instruction
Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom.
