Position Summary:
The STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) teacher/Technology Integrator is a split position. The successful candidate in this role will teach a STEAM course to 4th and 5th grade students half time and will support technology integration with the other half of the position. The STEAM teacher will develop and teach hands-on STEAM lessons that engage students in problem solving and the engineering and design process. In the role of Technology Integrator the successful candidate will support and develop the use of technology as a tool to support teaching and learning. The Technology Integrator serves as coach and mentor to assist faculty in implementation and integration. The technology Integrator also plays a role in working with students and supporting co-curricular programs involving the use of multimedia resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Maine Department of Education Teacher Endorsement either computer science/technology or elementary education eligibility required. A degree in computer systems or teaching is preferred.
Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check Certificate eligibility required.

Experience with STEAM related instruction.
Computer support experience preferred.
An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in the educational setting.
Competency in MacOS and MacBook functionality.
Competency in ChromeOS and ChromeBook functionality.
Competency in iOS software and iPad functionality.
Competency in Google Apps/GSuite
An understanding of TCP/IP networking.
Current knowledge of available and emerging technologies.
Ability to effectively communicate with faculty regarding technology use in both oral and written form.
Ability to effectively train faculty in technology use.
Knowledge of sound teaching strategies.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
