The successful applicant will also demonstrate experience with theinterdisciplinary and collaborative structures of diverseprofessional work. AACC is a tenure-granting institution. Anycandidate hired as a full-time faculty member may be eligible toapply for tenure in the future based on institutional eligibilityrequirements. This position requires regular in-person presence oncampus or at alternative locations, depending on class schedule andother assigned duties. Flexible teaching schedules may be availablebased on student needs. AACC offers daytime, evening, weekend,hybrid and online classes. Full-time faculty contracts begin onAugust 16 and end on June 15. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCandidates should be committed to student-centered, outcomes-basededucation with experience incorporating multiple instructionalstrategies and the use of technology in teaching and learning.

Strong candidates will demonstrate knowledge of evidence basedteaching practices and how they can be applied in a collegeclassroom to help students succeed. Teaching assignments are 15faculty load hours per semester. Courses to be instructed includelecture and lab courses in horticulture, plant propagation, andecology. Full-time faculty are expected to participate oncommittees in the department and the college. Candidates shouldhave evidence of ongoing commitment to personal and professionaldevelopment as well as the ability to work effectively with adiverse faculty, staff, and student body. Additionally, excellencein oral, written and interpersonal communication skills isexpected. Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Biology or field thatis represented in foundational biology courses with at least 18hours of graduate courses in areas related to biology Demonstratedexperience teaching college-level introductory biology coursesDemonstrated experience with teamwork/collaboration in teachingand/or course development Ability to deliver required, predefinedcourse curriculum while incorporating individual knowledge andexperiences to engage students and make the course their ownExperience teaching with learning management systems and electronictextbook resources
