Part-Time College and Career Readiness Day Lab Facilitator 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 137 South Post Road, Shelby, NC 28152 Rank Lab Assistant Job Description Monitors laboratory activities and enforces rules and regulations to ensure safe and conducive learning environment. Maintains lab books, supplies, work aids, etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of items as may be required. Assists day students in studying a variety of subject areas up to and including high school level: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Reviews student lab work and monitors student progress and tests. Prepares laboratory for classes and ensures that work areas are clean and neat; ensures that laboratory materials and handouts are prepared for classes. Assists in maintaining laboratory materials; stores materials when not in use, monitors condition, and notifies supervisor of any needed repairs/replacements. Researches and evaluates new equipment, supplies, and resources and makes recommendations regarding purchase decisions. Supports the ABE day classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and teaching methodologies. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic records and files (e.g. inventories, student activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of tracking student academic progress as an up to date reference and audit trail. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience and a bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, or a closely related field.
