Upper School Chemistry Teacher 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 9502 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28277 Charlotte Latin School is seeking a creative, flexible, and energetic chemistry teacher with college preparatory experience to join our full-time Upper School science faculty. This position is well suited for motivated professionals who are looking for the freedom to teach unique, individualized science courses at the Advanced Placement, honors, standard, and elective levels as part of a team of enthusiastic educators. Additional responsibilities may include sponsoring extra-curricular activities, advising, and/or coaching. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach 4 sections of Chemistry (or other sciences) Partner with colleagues to create and update course curriculum Assess students’ academic performance including regular grading Provide 1:1 support to students during office hours, before and after school Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current within field Additional responsibilities may include sponsoring extra-curricular activities, advising, and/or coaching. Supervisory Responsibilities None Education and Experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s or doctoral degree in chemistry or an associated area is highly preferred Experience teaching chemistry is required Experience teaching physics, biology or other science courses is preferred.
