Job Description Summary The successful candidate will teach a variety of core courses within the Computer Science, and Robotics programs. Additional expectations include academic advising, assisting the department with program assessment, administrative work, serving on college and university-wide committees. Faculty are required to continue professional development in accordance with university expectations.
Job Description Duties and Tasks:
Teach 8 classes Advise students Assist with academic program reviews Undertake professional development and produce scholarly research Undertake community service in keeping with the University’s Benedictine values Teach on-ground, online, evening, and weekend classes as needed Teach undergraduate courses Participate in department, college, and university meetings and committees Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson and/or Dean
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge:
At least a Master degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems, or closely related discipline (e.g. Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Robotics or Software Engineering). Ability to teach a broad spectrum of courses across the
ACM/IEEE
Computer Science curriculum.
Skills:
Display collegial disposition and is open to new ideas for improving processes Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
Abilities:
Demonstrate effective written, oral and organizational skills Ability to take initiative and thrive in a dynamic environment Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diversity of colleagues and students

- (500 words or less), should highlight how your teaching philosophy and practices fit the Mission and Values of Saint Leo University. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
- All letters of recommendation should be professional references and at least one (1) from a recent superior. If you do not have those documents at the time of application, please upload a text or word document stating, “Recommendations will be sent independently.” Recommendation letters can be mailed to Academic Affairs at the address stated below Student Evaluations (six classes minimum)
- Student evaluations from the last year (at least six classes, an even mix of graduate and undergraduate).
TRANSCRIPTS
Official transcripts are required for all adjuncts and all final full-time faculty candidates Official transcripts for Master, Graduate, and Doctorate degrees are required to complete your application packet and are to be issued directly to Saint Leo University from the respective education institution.
- Transcripts that are “Issued to Student” or issued to another institution are not accepted. Digital and/or electronic transcripts cannot be accepted at this time. World Education Services (WES) Evaluation
- A certified evaluation and translation from World Education Services (WES) is required for foreign transcripts and/or any and all degrees obtained from international universities.
