Position Overview:
The Salem High School Career and Technical Education Center is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Health Science Technology Teacher. This role involves instructing both levels of Health Science Technology 1 and 2, focusing on teaching anatomy and physiology, health care careers, medical terminology, and basic nursing skills to students pursuing certification as nursing assistants. Job changers with a passion for teaching and training the next generation of helathcare providers are encouraged to inquire.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative lessons in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and healthcare.
- Provide hands-on instruction in nursing assistant skills (if applicable).
- Foster a dynamic learning environment that inspires student interest and participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Support students in achieving their academic and career goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the nursing field.
- Ability to qualify for site-based certification in the State of NH. Teacher certification is not mandatory but can be obtained through a site-based learning plan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and motivating students.
