Credit Recovery Teacher – Math & Science
Job Description:
The role of a Credit Recovery Teacher is to facilitate a 5-week learning experience for students to recover credit from an Academic Failure of a credit-bearing course. Credit Recovery Teachers will work collaboratively to accomplish the following responsibilities:
Pre-assess student knowledge in the content area and design a 5-week learning plan(July 8-August 7) to recover the credit for the targeted course and competencies/standards identified in the assessment.
Meet with students Tuesday-Thursday, from 9:00am-12:00pm, to facilitate the learning and guide students through the work.
Offer timely feedback and suggest effective learning strategies during course hours. Provide students with additional, targeted learning goals, if needed, outside of Clipper Academy course hours. Document attendance and student progress and share that information with students and parents. This is accomplished by filling out a daily online student progress log and by completing a summative narrative after the program. Seek feedback from students and families regarding their experience with the Clipper Academy course(s).
Required hours:
Attend preliminary meetings with the Clipper Academy Supervisor to understand this role and discuss implementation plans. Build curriculum for your assigned course(compensation is included in the calculation of payment).
Facilitate your course, Tuesday through Thursday (July 9th- August 8th), from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Provide frequent feedback on assignments and assessments on a daily basis. Communicate with parents/guardians with a summary on each student through phone calls and emails, as needed, throughout the program.
Compensation:
$2,500 base stipend with a minimum of 10 students; $100/student added for each additional student enrolled up to 25 students.
