Responsibilites:
Coordinate classroom tasks as outlined by the building principal Work to achieve the New Jersey Learning Standards and district educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Set specific objectives wherever possible in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans; and carry through presentation to effectively achieve these objectives Monitor students’ academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction and behavioral improvement plans. Effectively communicate standards and progress with parents regularly Maintain productive relationships with parents and other staff members Maintain records of students’ educational and behavioral progress in the OnCourse system and summarize as appropriate Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning Plan class activities and lesson presentations that are age-appropriate for the class and meet the individual needs, interests and ability levels of all students Maintain professional competence and pursue continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities Participate in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees, and other school system groups Make effective use of community engagement Mandatory New Staff Orientation – August 26, 27, 28
