Job Description:

SUNY Orange’s Continuing and Professional Education unit (CAPE) is seeking a part-time High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor for the Youth Empowerment Program, which serves youths ages 16-24. The HSE Instructor is responsible for a multi-level learner course from Monday through Thursday (9 am – 12 pm). The year-round program is held on the Newburgh Campus. Attending monthly staff meetings and professional development is a requirement. This position is expected to teach English Language Arts, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies content sourced from the GED Testing Service and New York State Education Department’s learning standards.

Requirements:
Required:

 Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years of experience teaching secondary or post-secondary subjects to at-risk youth and adults.

Preferred:

Special Education degree and certification with prior secondary or GED Test Prep teaching experience. Excellent teaching skills and Classroom Management.

Salary:
