The Tri-County Technical College The Arts & Sciences Division seeks a collaborative, dynamic, and versatile Chemistry Instructor dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our students. Applicants should possess a desire to work in a collaborative, student-centered environment focused on learning and success. All candidate should attach a teaching philosophy. Coursework for the Chemistry Instructor may include courses such as General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Principles of Biochemistry, etc. Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Teach assigned courses using systematically planned and delivered instruction for the program.
Review, evaluate, and revise on a continuing basis course objectives, instructional materials, and course syllabi. Design new courses as needed. Ensure compliance with all accrediting guidelines.
Serve as academic advisor to students and participate in student recruitment and development.
Maintain records of student academic progress and attendance, evaluate the level of achievement, and assign grades for the program.
Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching competence and to stay current in the teaching field; serve on college committees and participate in recruiting and marketing activities.
This is a face-to-face position, this is not a remote opportunity. Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master’s Degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field with 18 hours in chemistry with multiple organic or biochemistry courses.
Familiarity with GC, IR, and NMR techniques, instrumentation and applications
concentration area in organic chemistry or biochemistry.
Previous teaching experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and classroom environments.
Commitment to student success and fostering a positive learning environment.
The successful candidate must be responsible for our instrument room, so they need knowledge of GC, IR, and NMR instruments.
