7th/8th Grade Science Teacher Savannah Oaks Academy Columbia, SC 29205 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science through engaging lessons and hands-on activities. This position requires a strong background in various scientific disciplines, including microbiology, biochemistry, and genetics, as well as the ability to develop and implement an effective curriculum tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. Duties Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and foster student engagement in scientific concepts. Teach subjects including microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, and discrete math while integrating standardized testing preparation into the curriculum. Utilize innovative teaching methods, including Montessori principles, to accommodate different learning styles and promote critical thinking. Assess student performance through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and participate in academic advising for students. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Stay updated on current scientific advancements and educational best practices to enhance teaching effectiveness. Skills Strong knowledge of microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, trigonometry, and discrete math. Experience working with students in an educational setting, demonstrating effective classroom management skills. Familiarity with standardized testing protocols and preparation strategies.
