Job Responsibilities
Teach Physics courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist department chair with administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be in the classroom on any of the campuses or distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends or a combination.

TEACHING PERFORMANCE
- The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.

INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.

INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
- The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.

STUDENT ADVISEMENT
- The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.

COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICES
- The participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- The participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field. Teaching experience in Physics at the college level, including lecture and laboratory instruction. Proficiency in using a learning management system (e.g., D2L/Brightspace), effective communication skills, and the ability to engage students through various teaching methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in Physics or a related field with radiology or sonography experience.
Three or more years of college-level teaching experience, with demonstrated success in engaging students through active learning techniques in both lecture and laboratory settings.
Experience in developing, revising, and implementing curriculum and course materials that align with current scientific standards. Advanced skills in using digital teaching tools, online learning management systems (e.g., D2L/Brightspace), and virtual lab simulations.
Proven experience in academic advising and mentoring, with a focus on student retention and success. Active involvement in professional organizations, continuous learning, and participation in relevant professional development activities.
Additional Comments
Some travel to training classes and conferences will be required. Professional, collegial and ethical conduct, decisions and relationships are expected at all times.
