Montessori Summer Camp Classroom Assistant Azalea City Montessori 18 W Pierpoint Dr, Mobile, AL 36606 Ability to teach campers of various age groups.. Azalea City Montessori Summer Camp Assistant Azalea City Montessori is looking for a high energy, fun, and engaging early childhood summer camp assistant. The summer camp teacher would be working with children between the ages of 3-6 for 7 weeks during the summer. The ideal summer camp assistant would be a warm, positive, and energetic individual who enjoys the challenging work of young children. The summer camp assistant would ideally be able to assist the children with their activities to keep children engaged during the day with age appropriate lessons centered around the summer theme.

Camp Schedule:

Monday•Friday 8:00 am•4:00 pm

First Day of Camp:

Monday, June 2nd​

Last Day of Camp:

Friday, July 21st-25 Camp Closed (non working week): Monday July, 1st•Friday, July 5th

Responsibilities:

Participate fully in week long camp activities Manage class resources. Report any and all accidents/incidents to parents and camp leader Maintains a warm and positive environment in the classroom, while establishing and managing classroom rules and regulations. Cares for and protects the safety of the campers and is versed in emergency and disaster procedures. Monitor and assist students with snack and lunch Assist in traditional camp activities in various skill levels Communicates with the Director of Summer Programs and camp staff regarding camper progress. Maintains a learning environment and follows planned activities to keep children engaged in age appropriate activities that promote hands on learning. Follows camp curriculum to engage summer campers with fun interactive activities

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to assist teacher with campers of various age groups. Ability to accept guidance and supervision. At least 18 years of age. Current CPR and Standard First Aid preferred Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and enforce appropriate behavior management techniques. Ability to appropriately identify and respond to any emergency. EDUCATION and/or

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
