Team Nitro MMA SEALTeam operates to provide high-quality afterschool and summer programming for students in grades K-12. Our mission emphasizes Social, Emotional, Academic, and Leadership (SEAL) development through a dynamic blend of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training , academic support, enrichment activities, mentorship, and personal growth opportunities. Our strong focus on MMA as a tool for discipline, confidence, and leadership uniquely sets us apart from other programs in the city.
Position Summary:
Youth Enrichment•Classroom Leaders are responsible for leading a grade-level group of students through daily academic and enrichment rotations during our summer camp. This role involves lesson preparation, active supervision, academic reinforcement, and intentional facilitation of activities that promote SEAL competencies. Facilitators are expected to create an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment aligned with our program’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead grade-level student groups through daily rotations including academic sessions and creative enrichment activities Arrive prepared with developmentally appropriate lessons, materials, and engagement strategies Take daily attendance and maintain a clear rotation schedule Plan and facilitate activities that foster social, emotional, academic, and leadership development Ensure consistent supervision, safety, and engagement of all students Complete daily documentation including success highlights, behavioral notes, and opportunities for student growth in an exit summary tracker Collaborate with fellow staff and program leaders to support a positive and productive camp culture Model professionalism, respect, and the SEALTeam core values at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree in education, child development, or related field preferred Experience working with children or youth in educational, recreational, or mentorship settings Strong classroom or group management skills and ability to lead with intention and enthusiasm Ability to plan and adapt activities for diverse age groups (K-12) Must pass a Level 2 background screening prior to employment DCF 40 Hours (if not complete, must be started prior to first day of employment) Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
