As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and teamwork among campers. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Plan and lead sports coaching sessions, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and other recreational activities. Provide counseling and support to campers, promoting values of respect, kindness, and teamwork. Educate campers on important life skills through structured programs and informal interactions. Assist with classroom management during educational sessions or workshops as needed. Maintain open communication with parents regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team environment focused on camper enjoyment and development. Ensure all camp equipment is maintained properly and report any issues to the camp director. Qualifications Experience working with children in settings such as babysitting, tutoring, or childcare is preferred. Strong background in sports coaching or recreational leadership is a plus. Familiarity with kids principles is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages. Ability to manage groups effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. A passion for outdoor activities and a commitment to fostering a safe camp environment. Previous experience in a camp setting or educational environment is highly desirable.
