Lead Summer Camp Counselor Sparkles of Smyrna is seeking an energetic, outgoing, engaging, and family-friendly Lead Summer Camp Counselor. This role is dedicated to building excellent relationships with our members and providing exceptional service for our camp program.

Seasonal position for our camp season, starting for campers from June 2nd – through July 25th. Ideal for college-bound students, teachers, and retired education professionals seeking summer employment.

Top Roles, but not limited to the following: Collaborate with camp counselors to execute summer camp. Coordinate, schedule, and oversee summer camp activities. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with members. Provide excellent customer service. Day to Day Work Successfully with other Camp Counselors, and Group Leaders Facility Managers. Facilitate and lead camp activities. Encourage camper participation in activities. Maintain a positive and fun attitude. Take campers to and from activities.
Candidate Experience and Qualifications:
At least 1 year of customer service experience. At least 2 years of experience working with children in various settings. Camp experience is highly recommended. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with youth and adults. Must possess written and verbal communication skills. Must possess timely, structured, and orderly skills. Must be able to work as a team member. Public speaking or instructional teaching skills. Ability to work holidays. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and repetitive actions. Bending, stooping, lifting. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. CPR/First Aid certified (preferred).
Candidate Prefered Experience and Qualifications:
A minimum of two years’ experience working with children. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with youth and adults. Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and project management skills. Must possess written and verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be able to captivate the attention of children and respectfully delegate tasks. Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and orderly facility. Must be okay with preparing food for kids and providing instructional lessons. Must be able to work as a team member. Ability to work on holidays. Position Classification and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time seasonal position during June and July. Camp will run from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Once your seasonal contract is over, you will have the opportunity to apply for permanent positions that are available.
