Counselors will work directly with campers with special needs to provide support, lead activities, ensure safety, and help create a memorable summer experience for all participants. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children with special exceptionalities and have a knack for creativity and leadership. Duties Supervise and engage with campers during all camp activities, including arts & crafts, music, outdoor play, sensory experiences, and group games. Support campers with special needs during daily routines, transitions, and personal care tasks as required. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for campers of all abilities. Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to implement individualized support strategies. Communicate effectively with campers, team members, and leadership. Participate in staff training and follow all safety and behavioral protocols. Skills Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills: Must be 18+ for paid positions. CPR/First Aid certification (preferred – training may be provided). Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions and engage physically with campers. Patience, enthusiasm, and a heart for serving others are essential!.
