Summary:

The Lead Head Teacher role supports and assists the Director and staff in the day-to-day management and leadership of the childcare center and is responsible for the overall successful management of the childcare center in the absence of the Director. The Lead role will continue to uphold all responsibilities of the Head Teacher (or designate an appropriate substitute) while in this role.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field required.

License/Certifications:

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition (preferably focused on the age-group assigned to teach), CDA equivalency as defined by NAEYC required. Current BLS Certification and First Aid Certification required.

Experience:

Three years of teaching/caregiving experience as a Head Teacher at PenBay Creative Learning Center required; Must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required:

Must present original certification of approved DHHS fingerprinting background check.
