The Event Belayer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of climbers by managing the belaying process, providing support, and maintaining a positive environment. This role is crucial in creating an enjoyable and secure experience for all participants. Duties Safely manage the belaying of climbers, ensuring proper techniques are followed at all times. Conduct pre-event safety checks on climbing equipment and gear. Provide clear instructions and guidance to climbers regarding safety protocols and climbing techniques. Monitor climbers’ performance and provide encouragement to enhance their experience. Maintain a clean and organized event area, ensuring all equipment is stored properly after use. Collaborate with event coordinators to ensure smooth operations throughout the event. Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents, following established safety procedures. Experience Prior experience in belaying or rock climbing is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Strong understanding of climbing safety protocols and equipment usage is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with participants of all ages. A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Certification in First Aid/CPR is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is encouraged.
