Job Description

Learn to Play Coach – School Program Hockey Western New York, LLC Buffalo, NY 14203 The Buffalo Sabres are looking for experienced hockey coaches to help run the Learn to Play school program. The ideal candidate will have prior coaching and/or playing experience. Participants are in elementary school and may or may not have prior hockey experience. Our program is called Students of the Game, it is designed to engage the youngest generation of fans. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to play hockey at the most basic level, with a stick and ball. Created jointly by the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). The goal of Students of the Game is to inspire youth and welcome more families into the hockey community. This role is seasonal and will start in August 2025 and run through April/May of 2026.

Primary Responsibilities:

Set up/breakdown drills and games Instruct students in small groups and various stations Answer any questions teachers/students may have about the game/giveaways. Communicate effectively with teachers/students

Experience and Skills:

3+ years of coaching experience Hockey related knowledge Ability to instruct and demonstrate drills to participants Ability to communicate with teachers/students Working knowledge of hockey programs

Compensation:

This role is part time pays $15.50 an hour.
