The Destined 2 WOW Summer Performing Arts Camp is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and experienced Camp Program Coordinator/Director to lead the administrative planning and execution of our powerful summer program for middle and high school students.
Position Overview:
The Camp Program Coordinator/Director will oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational needs of the summer camp. This includes managing instructors and interns, coordinating with parents and guardians, ensuring the camp schedule flows smoothly, and maintaining a safe, structured, and inspiring environment for our campers. This contract position is perfect for someone who has a passion for education, the arts, youth development, and creating positive change in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of the Destine2WOW Summer Performing Arts Camp. Supervise and support teaching artists/instructors, interns, and volunteers. Oversee and maintain the camp’s daily schedule and ensure sessions run efficiently. Serve as the primary liaison between parents/guardians and the camp.
Handle all administrative needs:
registration tracking, scheduling, attendance, parent communication, and camp materials. Coordinate field trips, guest speakers, and final showcase production details. Ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive environment that aligns with the camp’s mission and values. Respond promptly and appropriately to behavioral, emotional, or logistical issues as they arise. Attend all planning meetings and complete any required post-camp reports or evaluations.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver’s license. Proven experience in youth program coordination, camp management, or education leadership. Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Familiarity with performing arts education (theatre, music, poetry, etc.) is highly preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team. Must be comfortable working with middle and high school students from diverse backgrounds. Must pass a criminal background check. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp start). A genuine love for youth empowerment and the performing arts.
Camp Dates & Details:
Camp runs June 9th – August 1st with ( no camp June 30th – July 1st) Two 3-week sessions. Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Weekly field trips and Final Talent Showcase at the end of camp on August 1st at Harbison Theatre, Irmo, SC Weekly field trips and a final public showcase included in the camp schedule. This position will begin asap to assist with the planning phase and extend through camp completion.
