This position follows a daily schedule that includes hands-on activities, arts and crafts, age-appropriate STEAM based programs, and designated play time in the Museum.
Work Schedule and Conditions:
Weekly schedule Monday through Friday. Employees should expect to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. This position requires moving throughout the Museum for extended periods of time.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties include:
Leading a group of campers through planned activities and programs. Supervising and motivating campers in an age-appropriate manner that is fun and engaging. Implementing camp rules and regulations to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of campers in the program. Ensuring exhibits and designated classroom spaces are clean and organized before and after use. Maintaining accurate documentation to include attendance records and incident reports. Planning and participating in exciting activities and play. Welcoming campers each day, ensuring each camper is treated with respect and dignity. Performing first aid under the supervision of trained team members. Accurately records time worked by clocking in and out for each shift and designated break.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School degree, preferred. Previous experience working with children in a camp setting, daycare, or similar environment. Physically able to care for large groups of children. Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual and maintain low absenteeism. Have a basic understanding of the needs and abilities of young children. Must be able to bend, squat, lift, push, and pull.
