Social Work The School of Social Work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites applications for the position of Instructor of Social Work. This is a 9-month non-tenure track faculty position set to begin August 16, 2025. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited School of Social Work is an academic unit within the College of Business, Health, and Human Services and boasts growing BSW and MSW programs. We are seeking a faculty member who is committed to teaching and community involvement. This person will teach four classes each semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as assigned. They are also expected to provide service to the school and community. The successful candidate will be joining an established, productive, collegial group of educators and scholars. This position is governed by state and federal law, and agency/institution policy. The UA Little Rock School of Social Work has long been committed to social workers and citizens in Arkansas. In addition to being the longest-running program in the state, our school graduates more students than any other social work program in Arkansas. We are the only university in the state to offer both a bachelor’s and a master’s program in online and face-to-face formats. Our Master of Social Work is nationally-accredited by the CSWE. In addition to our BSW and MSW programs, we offer minors in Gerontology, Human Services, and Social Work as well as a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Both our undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable hands-on training while using their progressive skills in social work. Field education provides students a chance to learn and grow in a supportive environment where they can apply their expertise and intellectual perspective with new clients. Required Education and or Experience:
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited School of Social Work;
- Minimum 2 years of social work practice experience;
- LCSW credential (or LCSW eligible if not currently licensed in Arkansas).
Preferred Education and or Experience:
- 5 years or more of social work practice experience;
- Prior undergraduate or master’s level teaching experience;
- Experience working with students as an adjunct faculty, field instructor, and/or liaison.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach BSW and/or MSW as assigned;
- Maintain contemporary course content and align content with accreditation standards;
- Monitor student progress through the program and adjust degree plans as necessary;
- Respond to inquires regarding the designated program(s);
- Provide service to the School and community;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
