This pool will be used to fill part-time, temporary teaching positions on an as-needed basis for upcoming semesters. Adjunct instructors will teach undergraduate courses in sociology, which may include—but are not limited to—Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Race and Ethnicity, Gender and Society, and Sociology of the Family. Courses may be offered in-person, online, or in hybrid formats. Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 150,287 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and deliver course content in alignment with department standards Evaluate and grade student work in a timely manner Maintain regular communication with students and department leadership Uphold academic integrity and foster a respectful learning environment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities . Physical Requirements Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Sociology or a closely related field from an accredited institution Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college level Strong communication and organizational skills A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
