Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Role 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Oneonta, AL 35121 Minimum 1+ years deaf & hard of hearing experience required. Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time role with school districts in the Oneonta, ALarea. We are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about empowering Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring their academic success, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate effective communication strategies, including American Sign Language and visual aids. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a comprehensive educational plan. Assist in assessing and monitoring student progress, adapting strategies as needed. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and participation. Ensure necessary accommodations and modifications are in place to support each students unique needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field. Certification in Deaf Education or relevant licensure (as required by the district). Previous experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is preferred. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and specialists.
