Category Schools – Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract To Hire Position Overview We’re seeking a passionate and licensed Special Education Teacher to join our fully remote team, supporting K-12 students across Alabama. This flexible, work-from-home opportunity empowers you to make a meaningful impact on students with diverse learning needs. As a virtual Special Education Teacher, you’ll collaborate with families, educators, and school staff to deliver tailored instruction and support through a secure teletherapy platform. Key Responsibilities Deliver specialized virtual instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners. Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support. Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure student progress and inform instructional decisions. Participate in virtual IEP meetings, offering expert insight and data-driven recommendations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field. Active and valid Alabama teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement. Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a school setting preferred. Experience with IEP development and case management. Comfortable using technology for instruction and communication. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Self-directed and able to work effectively in a remote environment. Technology Requirements Reliable high-speed internet connection. Desktop or laptop computer (tablets and Chromebooks are not supported). Ability to pass a brief technical screening to ensure platform compatibility.
