JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a valid Alabama Teacher Certificate with appropriate endorsement in the assigned teaching field Meet all Alabama State Department of Education certification requirements Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Have or able to obtain Work Base Learning certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and effective classroom practices. They must have the ability to assess student learning and differentiate instruction to address diverse academic needs. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create and maintain a supportive learning environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both verbal and written communication with students, staff, and parents. Additionally, they must be capable of integrating instructional technology into daily teaching and maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records. A solid understanding of educational standards, data analysis, and the use of formative and summative assessments to drive instruction is also required.

JOB GOAL

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, responsible, and productive members of society.

SUPERVISES

Students and assigned personnel

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess individual and classroom needs. Develop and implement instructional objectives aligned to content standards. Design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using diverse strategies. Promote a positive classroom climate with high behavioral expectations. Use data to evaluate and adjust instruction based on student performance. Maintain timely communication with parents, staff, and school leadership. Submit required records, grades, lesson plans, and documentation in a timely manner. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional learning, and curriculum planning. Demonstrate professional ethics, leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Operate computers and standard office equipment. See and read a computer screen and printed materials. Hear and communicate effectively in person and via phone. Stand, walk, bend, lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Full-time position

Compensation:

Based on Russell County Schools salary matrix, credentials, and experience

Contract:

10-month contract as determined by board policy

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Russell County Board of Education’s policy for adjunct and instructional personnel.
