- Itinerant An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated and skilled Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher to provide valuable support to K-12 students in Jasper, AL.
This itinerant position is designed for those who are passionate about enhancing the educational experience for students with hearing impairments through tailored instruction and encouragement.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized or small group instruction to students with varying degrees of hearing loss. Develop and implement effective lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs. Conduct assessments and track student progress, adjusting strategies as required to optimize learning outcomes. Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive educational environment. Provide support in using assistive technologies and resources designed for deaf and hard of hearing students. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and objectives. Offer guidance and support in social and emotional development, fostering confidence and independence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or related field. Valid teaching certification and specialized training in deaf education. Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. Proficient understanding of assistive technologies and teaching methodologies for hearing impairments. Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting preferred. Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine desire to see students succeed.
