Special Education Teacher 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars Rocky Hill, CT Special Education Teacher – Hubbard Day – Stamford, CT Hubbard Day is hiring at its new campus in Rocky Hill, a suburb of Hartford, Connecticut. We are a State Approved Private Special Needs School for children with Autism and related neurological differences, and we are looking for State Certified Special Education Teachers. Specifically, we are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated SpEds for our school. The individual should be someone who can lead by example and work towards creating and maintaining a positive work environment for our students as well as our staff. Must have proper CT certification Responsibilities include: Conducting academic assessments to determine each child’s academic levels and learning style Plan, coordinate and facilitate individual and group lessons and activities. Preparing and writing progress reports, evaluations and bullet notes for team meetings. Developing and maintaining a structured classroom environment and daily routine Collaborating with related service providers and behavior therapists (BCBAs) in the development and implementation of each child’s individualized programming. Developing standards-based IEP’s based on student assessments, entering information into SEDS and programming curriculum in our online data collection system as required. Ensure students schedules are developed based on the student’s IEP service times and all objectives are included and taught across contexts. Assist in supervising and training RBT’s in curriculum and teaching programs Participate in each student’s PPT meeting convened by the student’s school district regarding the student Develop, implement and supervise staff with executing parent communication systems which meet each individual family’s needs
Experience and Skills:
Master’s Degree in Special Education Ability to develop and lead differentiated group lessons based on the needs of each child in the classroom. Strong oral and written communication skills
