Calling all champions of inclusive learning! An acclaimed school near Terryville, CT is eager to welcome a passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 20252026 school year. Join a collaborative team committed to empowering students with hearing impairments through innovative instruction, cutting-edge resources, and unwavering support.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students IEPs. Adapt curriculum and collaborate with classroom teachers for accessibility. Support language, communication, and social development. Monitor student progress and maintain documentation. Manage hearing technology and coordinate with audiologists. Provide consultation and training for staff on hearing loss and accommodations. Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Deaf Education or related field. Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (as required by the state) or Professional Educator License (PEL) Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, assistive technology, and language development. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities, as appropriate.
