SUMMARY:

Medical office and ambulatory Surgery Center in Viera is seeking an experienced Procedure Scheduler to schedule, coordinate, and help pre-authorize all services in a timely fashion. Provide assistance to Physicians, Clinical, and various other departments to deliver health care services including routine, emergency, and specialty encounters. Serves as a member of the health care team, assisting in promoting physical and emotional comfort for the patient. Responsibilities and Duties Provide a pleasant experience for patients and coworkers Schedule appointments, procedures, pre-op tests and other medically necessary tests Test scheduling to include: MRI, XRay, EMG, Bone Density, Cath Lab, Stress Test, Labs, Doctor Referral Appointments, Pre-Operative tests, etc. Assist with scheduling changes according to physician’s needs Determine patient care needs and direct patients accordingly Handle patient related phone calls, to include appointment scheduling, confirming test and procedure scheduling and general questions Provide procedure/surgery education to patients and dispenses a calendar of appointments relating to the scheduled surgery Comply with current HIPPA and OSHA guidelines to ensure the safety and privacy of patients and employees Assist in answering telephones Obtain insurance authorizations/verification for scheduled tests, procedures and surgeries Obtain any form of surgical clearances needed for scheduled procedures Draft routine correspondence including Letters of Medical Necessity Maintain filing system for test results, patient/clinic documents Preparing hospital documents and charts for surgical patient Maintain open communication with Supervisor/Director on any issues or concerns Promote a team environment that represents the best of Deuk Spine Institute Perform other duties as assigned
