$52.5K – $67.4K a year 22 hours ago Qualifications Photography Adobe Photoshop Adobe Lightroom Mid-level Working with high schoolers Master’s degree Bachelor’s degree Working with middle schoolers Communication skills Teaching Full Job Description This is a part-time faculty position with Ransom Everglades School, responsible for teaching three photography classes, which may include various levels of education in the Middle School and Upper School curriculum. Our faculty is expected to promote lifelong learning while engaging and supporting a diverse student body in a values-based community. Responsibilities Teach three photography classes throughout the school year. Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students at the assigned grade level, using various instructional strategies to cater to different learning styles. Create and administer assessments to measure student learning and progress. This may include quizzes, tests, projects, and cumulative exams. Provide thoughtful, individualized feedback and support to students who need extra help with concepts, including tutoring during office hours, before, or after school. Maintain a positive, structured, and disciplined learning environment that fosters student engagement and respect for the subject matter. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and pedagogy. Communicate effectively with parents using parent-teacher conferences and progress reports concerning their child’s progress. Work collaboratively with other faculty members to share resources, strategies, and insights. Participate in and possibly lead extracurricular activities related to subject matter, such as clubs or competitions. Actively engage in the school community by attending events, contributing to school initiatives, and supporting the school’s mission. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in visual arts or a related discipline. Master’s degree or higher level of education is preferred. Experience teaching at the middle school or high school level is preferred. Experience employing a range of pedagogical approaches (e.g., direct instruction, project-based learning, cooperative group work) Proficient in the use of technology, including Google and Adobe products (Photoshop and Lightroom Classic). Strong foundation and experience with Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras. A collaborative approach with colleagues, including the sharing of resources and communication concerning curriculum and students. Demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong foundation in studio photography is preferred. Experience with Epson large-format printers or digital printing is preferred. Ability to teach various subject matter levels with confidence and enthusiasm. Ability to teach engaging, problem-based, student-centered classes at grade level. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong prioritization and organizational ability.
