ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Fosters student’s understanding of God’s role in their lives and Christ’s relationship to each student. Under the auspices of the Office of Catholic Schools and the local parish, oversees and maintains a safe, faith-based learning environment. Ensures that a high level of developmentally appropriate practices is implemented. Implementation of standards, curriculum, and assessment. Weekly development and execution of lesson plans and program activities. Oversees the maintenance of all Center facilities and programs to ensure compliance with established standards of excellence and risk management/safety policies of the state, county, Diocese and parish. Promotes the success of all children by effectively communicating and collaborating with the pastor, families, stakeholders, and Diocese. Fulfills legal and contractual obligations.
ORGANIZATIONAL/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to effectively deal with various personalities.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and write routine correspondence to both external and internal parties; present information in group settings and facilitate effective and edifying group discussion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds. Physical demands include balancing, carrying, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, talking and walking. Also includes the ability to see items close.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be a Catholic in good standing; possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with at least 18 hours in Early Childhood from an accredited college or university; have Staff Director Credentials from the Department of Children and Families, and VPK Director Credential preferred. Related experience in a similar position is also preferred.
